Welcome back from Spring Break!!!
Third graders are back in full force. We have been studying the Hunley and are amazed with every detail from the size of it to the history behind it. We measured the length and size of it and the students were amazed especially of the width of it and how those men fit in such a small space!
Students must take at least 4 AR tests this nine weeks at a 3.8 level or higher and they must be chapter books. Also, the information about a book report on The Whipping Boy was sent home on April 1. The report is due on April 30.

We just received our cabbage plants that we receive every year from Bonnie Plants. The students are so excited about planting these and charting their progress. This came at a wonderful time because we just started our studies of plants and animals.
We just finished a unit on Helen Keller. The students were amazed at what a miracle it was for Helen to learn to speak when she couldn't hear or see.
Please join us all grandparents for Grandparent's Day on March 11.

We are so excited to be learning about our state. We just finished a study on South Carolina Indians and now we are studying pirates who visited S.C.
We are going to the Pumpkin Patch tomorrow. Remember to dress warmly in jeans and any Halloween shirt. Also, bring a bag lunch and drink.
Next Friday, we will be traveling to Savannah to see Disney on Ice. It can get a little cold inside so wear a jacket. If your child brings some money for souvenirs, please put it in an envelope with their name on it.
